Our trash and recycling services are provided by Orange County Utilities. They provide all of our water, reclaimed water for your lawn, trash, and recycling. Trash and recycling services are provided by Orange County and paid for with your tax dollars. Water is billed separately by Orange County Utilities.

If service was missed at your residence, please email Solid.Waste@ocfl.net with your address, contact information, and the materials you have at the curb. Alternatively, you may call the Solid Waste Hotline (407-836-6601) Monday thru Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m
Orange County Utilities delivers both drinking water and reclaimed water to your house. This allows you to save money on watering your lawn and also allows us to wisely use natural resources. Reclaimed water is delivered in purple water lines. You can only use reclaimed water for your lawn, and for certain gardening applications. Do not drink reclaimed water. Do not add a spigot to a reclaimed water line.
While there are no county restrictions on watering your lawn using reclaimed water, the Board recommends you follow the restrictions placed on non-reclaimed lawn watering neighborhoods. For this neighborhood, these are just recommendations, not requirements, but in order to be good stewards to our natural resources, and for the benefit of the entire neighborhood, we do recommend you follow these guidelines:
The following table shows the recommended watering days:
As shown in the table above, we recommend you water no more than twice a week between March 14 and November 6, and no more than once a week between November 7 and March 12.
It is recommended that you water no longer than one hour per zone.
It is recommended that you water early in the morning, or in the late evening.
You should avoid watering during the hottest part of the day. Definitely avoid watering between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. When watering during that timeframe, evaporation is highest and you don't get the best "bang for your buck."
It is also not recommended to water in the middle of the night, as evaporation is lowest and water can sit on your lawn for excessive periods of time, promoting algae and fungal growth.
Also, please be aware of your surroundings! For example, please don't run your sprinklers which impact the sidewalk while children are waiting on that sidewalk for the bus. Perhaps you can adjust your start time so that the offending zone starts 30 minutes later.
Trash is collected on Wednesday. During the Wednesday collection, the automated system will only collect trash that is in one of the 95 gallon totes (green lid is trash, blue lid is recycling). Use Large Item pickup if you cannot fit trash in your bin.
Collection will be provided as scheduled except on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. When Christmas falls on a Sunday through a Wednesday, collections will move one day forward for the rest of the week: trash on Thursday, Yard Waste and Large Items on Friday.
Yard waste and Large Item pickup both occur on Thursday.
Yard waste includes vegetative landscaping material as well as grass, tree, and shrub trimmings, and should not be placed in the garbage or recycling roll cart. Yard waste should be placed at the curb no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before and no later than 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
Limit yard waste to three cubic yards (about one small pickup truckload) per household per week.
Use your own garbage cans or plastic bags for collection. Cans and bags must be 50 gallons or less and weigh less than 60 pounds each when full. Cans must be waterproof with a tight-fitting lid and have handles on the sides.
Don't mix yard waste with garbage.
Bundle limbs, palm fronds, and similar items with string. Keep bundles three feet long or less. Limit weight to less than 60 pounds.
Live Christmas trees can be set out at the curb on your yard waste collection day for recycling. Trees over six feet should be cut in half. Remove all ornaments, decorations, and stands before placing at the curb. Artificial trees are not collected with yard waste.
Please refer to the Landfill/Transfer Stations page for compost information.
Large items includes items such as furniture, mattresses, appliances, TVs, and up to four passenger car tires. Large items should be placed at the curb no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before and no later than 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
Limit large items to three cubic yards (about one small pickup truckload) per household per week. Set large items out neatly.
Please keep large items separate from yard waste.
Freon-containing devices such as freezers and refrigerators are not included in the curbside collection program.
If you have questions about the eligibility of your large item for curbside collection, please call the Solid Waste Hotline at
407-836-6601.
Recycling is picked up right alongside Trash, and occurs on Wednesday. Recycling is required by Orange County Code. To reduce the amount of garbage in the recycling stream, the Orange County Utilities Solid Waste Division encourages residents to "Think 5" by focusing on the top five recyclable items—plastic, metal, and glass containers, as well as cardboard and paper. The overall goal is to help raise awareness about good recycling habits.
Place only these recyclable items in the roll cart with the blue lid:
PLASTIC
Bottles, jugs, and tubs labeled #1 - #5
METAL CANS
Tin, aluminum, and steel
GLASS
Bottles and jars
CARDBOARD
Flattened corrugated boxes
PAPER
Newspapers and advertisements
Paper bags
Junk mail
Magazines and catalogs
Office/note paper
Phone books
Cereal/shoe/drink boxes
Milk/juice cartons
The recycling program can only recycle the material listed above and no other material should go into the recycling cart. Plastic bags and wraps are particularly troublesome. Visit the American Chemistry Council’s Plastic Film Recycling page to find a bag drop-off location.
